The Indian Visa Photo Requirement as per 2026 depends on whether you are applying through the eVisa or regular online visa system. For India’s eVisa, the current official instructions specify a JPEG photograph between 10 KB and 1 MB, with equal height and width. The photograph should be recent, front-facing, on a white or light-coloured background, show the full face with eyes open, include the full head from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin, and have no borders or shadows. The official application guidance also specifies minimum dimensions of 350 × 350 pixels.

For the regular online India visa application, the official instructions currently specify JPEG format, equal height and width, a plain light or white background, no shadows, and a clear front-facing photograph. The regular visa instructions list a different file-size limit, so applicants should follow the requirements displayed for the specific application they are completing.
