Company Description

Brisbane’s Newest Entertainment Lifestyle Precinct

Located in the casino you can enjoy a thrilling atmosphere as you experience top-notch performances and events. LiveWire brings live entertainment to the forefront with its impressive space featuring floor-to-ceiling windows with views of The City and the main star, a 19-meter-long bar. Sip on bespoke seasonal cocktails crafted by an in-house mixologist while soaking in the venue’s lively energy and dynamic atmosphere. Pompette is a standout with its alfresco terrace accompanied with incredible views of the Brisbane River with the addition of three private dining rooms for a more intimate dining experience.
This involved the placement of a 175-tonne piece of steel 100 metres above ground level, between the two curved towers. The project’s location was criticised for its proximity to the historical heart of the city and government seat of power. The mixed-use development will feature 2,000 apartments, 1,100 hotel rooms and a casino.
This exhibition will be judged by David Henderson; Sally Brand, QAGOMA; and Mostyn Bramley-Moore. All entries must be accompanied by a statement further describing the connection of the artwork to the Greater Brisbane area. We’ll keep you posted when we know more about what’s coming to the precinct, but you can also stay up to date and get all the latest construction news on The Star Brisbane website. The entire precinct will also encompass seven heritage listed buildings across several blocks, all the way down to The Treasury Building, with plans for everything from a microbrewery and speakeasy bar to a cooking school and aboriginal art gallery in the works for the spaces once they are restored. Ghanem Group, the Brisbane-based family-owned hospitality group behind iconic venues like Donna Chang, Boom Boom Room and Iris, have just announced that they will be joining the Queen’s Wharf line up with Lúc Lắc, a tropical-chic Indochine-inspired restaurant and bar.
The Dorsett and Rosewood hotels are due to open by the end of 2026. The Star Grand features 340 luxury rooms and a 360-degree signature cocktail bar. The luxury five star Star Grand hotel occupies towers two and three, which are the two curved towers. Black Hide Steak & Seafood will move from the Treasury Brisbane to the new precinct into a 240-seat restaurant. Queen’s Wharf consists of four towers situated atop a seven-storey podium and a five-level basement.
Damaged artworks/frames will not be able to be placed on display. A selection process will be conducted by a qualified selection panel which includes the exhibition judges. Please note that the Event Centre is not open to the public for viewing the artworks, however a date for a tour of the Showcase will be announced closer to the time. Artists are asked to submit artworks that reflect what makes Brisbane and its surrounding attractions unique. This is an open exhibition for all artists residing in Queensland.
